Malcolm is 62 years of age, originally from a small island off the coast of Scotland called Rothesay. Arrived in Australia in 1964 (only seven, so no accent) as part of the “ten pound passage” scheme that delivered so many “new Australians” at the time.
Educated at University High School and then Melbourne University where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Malcolm commenced his working life as an accountant with a medium size accounting practice who specialized in the medical and medical related professions – doctors, dentists, pharmacists.
In 1983 Malcolm commenced his own accounting practice from a small office in Moonee Ponds and was joined by his brother Alex in 1986. Despite the occasional cross word with each other Malcolm and Alex are still in partnership today and Alex now takes responsibility for the substantial accounting practice which provides a full range of taxation and accountancy services to individuals and small businesses.
Since 1983 Bell Partnership has provided financial planning services. As the industry matured into a profession it became apparent that financial planning needed to be viewed as a specialist occupation so Malcolm’s time is now focused specifically on providing financial planning services.
Malcolm is the Principal/Director of Bell Partnership FP, holder of an Australian Financial Services Licencee. Previously he was a founding member of Apogee Financial Planning and has served on their National Advisory Board and was president of that Board for three years. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association. Malcolm offers a wide range of financial and taxation experience, has spoken many times at industry seminars and conferences, and has experience in media, conducting The Money program on 3AW between 1999 and 2003.
Andrew is 33 years of age and joined Bell Partnership full time at the age of 16. Andrew has a Diploma of Financial Services and is the youngest of Malcolm's four sons. Andrew specializes in insurance and superannuation advice and is very passionate about the family business.
Eve graduated from Deakin University Bachelor of Accounting in 2011. Eve joined Bell Partnership in 2013 mainly assisting with individual and company tax returns. Eve is originally from Hong Kong and speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Dorothy holds a Master’s Degree in Primary Teaching, however in an interesting turn of events has found herself in the family business as part of the administration team for the last three years. Dorothy takes care of your ASIC obligations, company revenue, company policy and senior staff workflow.
Olivia joined Bell Partnership in August 2013 working in various roles across Accounting & Financial Planning business. Olivia has a Certificate 3 & 4 in Business Administration, Certificate 4 & Diploma in Finance & Mortgage Broking Management, Diploma of Financial Planning and Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
Jack joined Bell Partnership as an 18 year old and worked part time while studying at La Trobe University. Jack graduated from La Trobe in 2009 with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting. Jack has been working full time at Bell Partnership since 2009 focusing on individual and larger tax issues, he is particularly passionate about working with emergency services personnel given his family history with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade. During his time away from the business he enjoys attending Collingwood games and plays football for the Oak Park Football Club.
Kirstie joined Bell Partnership in September 2015. Kirstie is currently a personal assistant to one of our senior accountants Geoff Bowes and also assists in the Financial Planning side of the business. During her time away from the office she plays competitive netball one night a week and has played as high as State League.
Deb started work at Bell Partnership in 1984. She took time away to have her two children, one of whom is Jack Pascu, an accountant in the company. For quite a few years, Deb worked in the travel industry for a client of Bell Partnership, she returned to our business in 2003. She has had various roles in all areas of the company, and is now settled into the role of the bookkeeper. Deb also works closely with Andrew in the management of the business and assists Malcolm with some of his clients bookkeeping needs.
Lala joined Bell Partnership in April 2010 as a university student working part time. In 2011 she completed her Bachelor Degree in Business (Accounting) from Monash University and started her full-time position. She is passionate about SMSF taxation & compliance works and other taxation areas.
David joined Bell Partnership in March 2005 and has a Diploma of Financial Planning. He is a Certified Financial Planner and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. Since joining Bell’s, David has been providing Financial Planning advice to clients mainly focussing on assisting them manage their lifestyle goals and objectives.
David started his working life in 1972 in the Warrnambool area at a local branch of one of the major banks. In 1987 David left the bank while living in Melbourne and started, with some sporting friends, a financial services business. The business developed locally, then nationally and was acquired by Lend Lease in 1994. From 1994 to February 2005 David worked for Lendlease Financial Planning, now Apogee Financial Planning, in various management roles.
Lachlan has provided individuals and business with financial, investment, and insurance advice for over 15 years. Lachlan is primarily focused on managing the $200 million dollars of clients funds under Bell Partnership stewardship, always seeking new ways to drive returns and stay ahead of the news cycle. Lachlan holds a silver level Duke Of Edinburgh award for Community Services in Australia and overseas, is a renowned fundraiser for the CFA, Lions Club, and Rotary International, and spruiks the benefits of helping out those less fortunate than himself. Lachlan prides himself on thinking ‘out of the box’, and finding solutions to issues broad sections of our clients deal with on a daily basis, adding to the unique views and strategies of Bell Partnership, something that keeps our clients satisfied and coming back year after year.
Kay joined Bell Partnership in 2015. She completed her Master of Professional Accounting & Master of International Finance degree from Deakin University. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University. Kay is particularly passionate about SMSF advice and providing solutions to assist clients with complex superannuation needs.
Simon is originally from New Zealand and has lived and worked in Melbourne since 1995, he joined Bell Partnership in 2008.
Simon has a Diploma of Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and an Advanced Diploma of Accounting from RMIT. As a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Simon has completed the IPA post graduate program resulting in the awarding of a Master of Commerce (Public Accounting) qualification.
Prior to joining Bell Partnership, Simon ran his own Bookkeeping business for 7 years. As a result, Simon has a wide range of experience and knowledge when it comes to running small to medium sized businesses. Simon tends to focus on providing taxation advice for clients who are looking to start a business or who are running an existing business. Simon is also experienced in dealing with GST for businesses and Capital Gains Tax issues for individual clients.
Geoff joined Bell Partnership in 1995 after studying at RMIT. Geoff has a wide range of experience over his 23 year with Bell Partnership and can assist with any of your accounting needs. Prior to joining Bell Partnership he held several positions including State Manager for TNT Air and Regional Manager & Internal Auditor for IPEC. Geoff is a passionate supporter of the St Kilda Football Club and MCC member.
Sara joined Bell Partnership in 2017 after moving to Melbourne from Brisbane where she had previously working in an accounting business. Sara is responsible for our client’s ASIC requirements and ensuring our clients meet their obligations on time.
