myGov

In order to access your Income Statements (previously called Group Certificates or PAYG payment summary) going forward you will need to register a myGov account. Instructions on how to create a myGov account can be seen in the video below.

Once you have registered a myGov account you will need to link it to the ATO. You will have to have your myGov sign-in options set to receive a code by SMS or the ‘myGov Access’ app to link to the ATO. After you've logged into myGov, select the Services tab on myGov home page and select Australian Taxation Office. Select the Questions specific to you as the linking option. You'll then have to enter your TFN and the details of two of the following:

  • a notice of assessment received in the last five years
  • a PAYG payment summary received in the last two years
  • a super account statement from the last five years
  • a dividends statement from the last two years
  • a Centrelink payment summary from the last two years
  • your bank account details. If you choose to use your bank account to confirm your identity, it must be an account you had your individual income tax refund paid into last year, or one that has earned interest in the last two years.

If you are unable to answer these questions or complete the linking process for any reason you will need to ring the ATO on 13 28 61 between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday or 10am-4pm on Saturday to obtain a linking code.

We cannot assist you in the process of creating a MyGov account or linking with the ATO, you will need to contact the relevant agencies for assistance in doing this.
